Berenda Educational Center

This educational center is located on the Berenda Elementary School site in the Madera Unified School District.  Special Day Class (SDC) services are provided for students grades 1 to 6 with significant developmental delays.  Programs are also offered for students with orthopedic impairments.

 

Coarsegold Educational Center

Special Education services are provided for children (grades K- 8) with moderate to significant developmental delays.  A diagnostic preschool is offered for children ages 3 and above.  Special Day Class services are offered for youth with emotional disturbances.

 



Gould Educational Center

The Gould Educational Center was named in honor of former Superintendent of Schools, Norman M. Gould, who served from 1962 to 1986.  The school site offers a wide variety of programs and services for children with disabilities and their families.

 

Special Day Classes are provided for students, 3 to 22 years of age, with significant developmental delays who require specialized health care procedures.  Itinerant, non-severe resource specialist services are provided for preschool children with mild disabilities.

 

A medical Therapy Unit (MTU) of California Children Services (CCS) is located at the Gould Educational Center.  The MTU provides occupational and physical therapy to the students at Gould as well as to students throughout Madera county who meet CCS eligibility requirements.  A medical therapy clinic is held once a month at Gould to determine the needs of the students.

 

Howard Educational Center

This educational center is located on the Howard Elementary School site in the Madera Unified School District.  Special Day Class (SDC) services are provided for children with emotional disturbance and/or hearing impairments.  Itinerant special education services are provided countywide for children with visual impairments (including orientation and mobility training). 

  

Millview Educational Center

This educational center is located on the Millview Elementary School site in the Madera Unified School District.  Special Day Class (SDC) services are provided for preschool children with orthopedic and/or significant developmental delays.  Two groups of preschool children with mild disabilities attend SDC two days a week.
