The Madera County Superintendent of Schools employs teachers who are fully credentialed to teach the deaf/hard of hearing and follow a “total communication philosophy.” They are assisted by instructional assistants and interpreters, as well as other support staff who are determined by an individual student’s needs, which include:
- Speech/Language Pathologist
- Audiologist
- Adapted Physical Education Specialist
- School Psychologist
- School Nurse
- Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Community Agency personnel as needed
- Occupational Therapist

- Direct instruction and monitoring of student progress as specified by the child’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
- Access to auditory trainers
- Access to closed caption decoders
- Audiological consultations
- Sign language interpretation
- Assistive Technology
