The Madera County Superintendent of Schools offers a variety of services to students and school districts. Services contracted to school districts in the county are Nursing Services and Psychological Services. Other Designated Instructional Services (DIS) are provided for students with special needs.
Designated Instructional Services
Designated Instructional Services (DIS) provide support to special needs students in the areas of vision, hearing, speech and language, and physical education. These services are provided to help ensure success within the classroom and must be agreed upon during the student’s Individualized Education Program (I.E.P.) meeting. The designated instructional services specialist may provide services directly to students or the specialist may work with the general education classroom teacher, special class teacher, or resource specialist in providing special instruction or adaptations within the student’s educational program and services.

- Deaf/Hard of Hearing Services
- Occupational Therapy
- Orientation and Mobility
- Speech and Language Service
- Transportation
- Visually Impaired Services
