School to Career
A variety of School-to-Career Programs exist at local schools to meet the needs of students and the communities in which they reside. The Madera County Superintendent of Schools works with school districts and local business and community leaders to provide school-to-career leadership through two countywide groups. The Madera County Business and Education Alliance is a representative group of educators and businesses that promote educational opportunities for all students to successfully transition from school to the work place or further education. The Madera Compact is a small group of private sector leaders and school superintendents. They work to improve communication and support between the two groups.
The Madera County Superintendent of Schools Instructional Media Center contains multi-media materials for K-12 students. These resources highlight careers, educational and technical skills needed, and assist in connecting education to the “real world of work.” The County Office is a partner with the State Center Consortium, a collaborative designed to provide college and career preparation opportunities for all students in Madera, Fresno, and Mariposa counties.
