PreKindergarten Access Initiative
As the result of a joint partnership between Madera County Office of Education and First 5 Madera County, a comprehensive planning process was launched in October 2006 to increase access to quality PreKindergarten services for all of Madera County children and families. For the first time, key county, city, and community stakeholders - together - reviewed data highlighting the need for increased PreKindergarten access, openly discussed concerns and issues impacting PreKindergarten delivery, and finally, developed an action plan to guide future implementation of high quality PreKindergarten programs in Madera County.
All three- and four-year-old children in Madera County will have access to a high quality PreKindergarten experience.
