Madera County Committee on School District Organization
    

The Madera County Board of Education  serves as the Madera County Committee on School District Organization.  The County Committee functions within the rules and regulations established by the legislature and its own policies and procedures.  

The Madera County Committee on School District Organization oversees the reorganization of school districts and district boundaries through territory transfers, consolidations or unifications as well as the establishment or rearrangement of governing board trustee areas as required.  The County Committee approves and confirms changes in school district boundaries.

The Committee may respond to petitioners or school district governing boards.

Area 1 -  Grant Sturm  (Chairperson)  Representing  portions of the  Golden Valley  Unified School District, Chawanakee Unified, Yosemite Unified School Districts and the Bass Lake Joint Union School District. Member since November 1994. Term expires November 2012.		Area 2 -  Sara Wilkins  Representing portions  of Raymond-Knowles,  Bass Lake Joint  school districts and  Yosemite Unified School District. Member since February 1989. Served as President of the California County Boards of Education in 2003. Term expires November 2014.
Area 3 -  Leon Bass  Representing Chowchilla  School and Chowchilla  Union High School  districts, Alview /   Dairyland and portions of Madera Unified School District. Member since July 1973. Term expires November 2014.		Area 4 -  Maxine Yocum  Representing a  portion of the  Madera Unified  School District.  Member since June 1987. Term expires November 2012.
Area 5 -  Cathie Bustos (Vice Chairperson)  Representing a portion of  the Golden Valley Unified  and Madera Unified  School Districts. Member  since March 1998. Term expires November 2012.		Area 6 -  Ronald Manfredo  Representing a  portion of Madera  Unified School  District. Member since December 2004. Term expires 2014.
Area 7 -  Bobby Thatcher  Representing a portion of  Madera Unified School  District. Member since  December 1983. Term expires November 2012.
